Staying Sane

In the effort to keep myself accountable I’ve decided to “put out there'“ the fact that I’m going to try and make an effort to exercise in some way. I’m not going to put a minimum goal or even commit to any particular exercise, but just to make the effort in some way.

So last week I ventured out into our neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised to discover that we have some awesome walking trails just down the street. I’m a tad embarrassed because we’ve lived here for over a year and I’m just now realizing this. Oops! In addition to the flowers and all the greenery I mostly enjoyed the little critters on the way. My favorite was the little frog I saw right before it got dark.

Initially I had wanted to do this for my body but quickly felt the benefit to my mind. During these times of course, getting outside can be truly beneficial. So if you’re in a funk or not feeling great emotionally I highly recommend you go outside. Take a short walk, a long walk, just a walk around the block and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
